Our Community Support and Charitable Giving Programmes are a fixture of cultural life at Davis Langdon. ‘Building Communities, changing lives’ encompasses education, children, homelessness, infrastructure, and environment. All of our people are given two community days per year to help not for profit organisations of their choice.
Our International Charity partner, voted for by our people is the Sabre Charitable Trust, a UK registered charity working on whole school improvement programmes in Ghana, West Africa.
Using the skills of our people and in collaboration with the local community we have teamed up with Arup to design a new kindergarten prototype which utilises local sustainable materials including coconut fibre and bamboo and upskills the local craftsmen and community with new livelihood skills.
The first kindergarten was completed in February 2010. Preparatory work has already commenced on the second kindergarten which is due to start building in October 2010.
This partnership is a perfect fit for Davis Langdon as our skills can be used in the consultation and project planning as well as building phase to create a genuine collaborative initiative. We are also undertaking other fundraising and capacity building activities with Sabre.

Our UK charity partner is CRASH the homeless charity for the construction sector. As well as a Patronage we fundraise and provide pro-bono support across the UK offering cost and project management services to homeless charities. This is typically advice and support regarding refurbishment or re-development of their hostels.
