It is essential that we are proactive in demonstrating health and safety best practice to our people.

We are committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of anyone who works at or visits our offices. We also have a responsibility to contribute positively to health and safety issues when working on client projects, compatible with the scope of our commission.

Davis Langdon's Health & Safety Policy was developed jointly by our Human Resources and Professional Development teams and is aligned with our business model. We feel it is essential that we are proactive in demonstrating health and safety best practice to our people. This assures their wellbeing and demonstrates our commitment to clients and colleagues in an area that is all too often disregarded by the construction industry.

Controlling risks and hazards is a basic principle of our policy. We undertake risk assessments with a view to identifying potential health and safety problems and developing proper controls. This information is used to minimise any hazards and/or risks to people, property and the environment.

Our recruitment policies are designed to employ skilled professionals who are properly inducted and trained so they are fully aware of the safety policy, rules and systems at work.  Everyone is expected to cooperate with and obey all safety rules.

For projects, a Health & Safety Toolbox has been designed with the following objectives:

  • Provide a tool that aids project mangers to develop their understanding of health and safety and how they can contribute to the health and safety performance and improve management of their projects.
  • Develop a set of behaviours for project managers that will become recognised as being part of the Davis Langdon way of doing things.
  • Work to help people benefit from effective health and safety management and a sensible heath and safety culture.
  • Promote an integrated team working approach that will enable Davis Langdon to demonstrate to our clients that we are actively managing the commitments in our Health & Safety Policy.
