The new cancer hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina is being built to expand the existing hospital facilities for the treatment of cancer in both adult and pediatric patients.
The project consists of two buildings – the cancer hospital and a new Medical Office Building. Design features of the hospital include an emphasis on the use of natural lighting, as well as a desire to bring patients and staff closer to nature through the inclusion of healing gardens and indoor courtyards. The hospital also includes teleconferencing facilities to provide doctors with a way to interact with other cancer treatment facilities and physicians around the state.
